Your Skin’s Sensitivity
Skin’s outer epidermal layer is a protective barrier designed to keep out harmful substances and at the same time lock in moisture and maintain a healthy skin barrier.
Although inflammation is the natural response to external stimuli it may causes a weakening in skin and subsequent inflammatory aging, so called ”inflamm’aging”.
There are genetic differences in how our bodies respond to irritation and inflammation. Certain biomarkers can be identified that show a stronger tendency or likelihood for sensitivity and the ability for skin to defend when challenged.
Certain environmental factors can also aggravate skin inflammation and sensitivity, such as perfumed products, which can cause an exaggerated sensitivity to pollutants and everyday chemicals.
